“It’s always the small pieces that make the big picture”
– Unknown –
Growing up, anytime there was a jigsaw puzzle on the go, I was drawn to it like a flower bending to the light. It was always a challenge diverting my attention to anything else. Over the last 8 weeks, I’ve had a 1500 piece jigsaw on the go. In all my puzzle experience, I’ve never taken this long to compete one and yet, I’m proud to say that I got out of my pyjamas every single day and managed to get lots of other things done.
I think initially, during this unique time and not knowing how long I’d be at home for, I naturally dropped the need for this puzzle to be completed in the shortest amount of time possible. There’s been no rush for anything and it’s a part of life that I’ve absolutely loved! I’ve used my time at the puzzle to be inspired by new ideas as I listen to talks and podcasts, to laugh at comedy shows, to catch up with friends over the phone or to take a quiet moment as I contemplate an idea.
I know without a doubt it will get completed (apart from the one missing edge piece that I’m highly suspicious of), but, in the meantime, I’m savouring the wonderful feeling of complete satisfaction as piece by piece, this beautiful picture slowly comes together.
Not everything needs to be done at top speed and as we continue to venture into the next lot of worldly changes, I’m going to focus on maintaining a peaceful and contented snails pace for different aspects of my life.
What about you? What insights have you discovered lately that you’d like to keep nurturing?
With love,
Ingrid
